August is here with blue skies, and the sun shinning, what a glorious month.

Samples are being sewn together for our new BOM's, workshops, and classes.

The Snow has covered the ground, the Lake looks like sparkling diamonds with all the ice, and the all the quilts are getting quilted so we can all stay cuddly and warm. So if you have any quilt tops needing to be quilted, I would love to quilt them for you.

My Dear Grandma

Florence Eva Holder, Hamilton, Ontario

Promoted to Glory on Saturday June 26, 2010.

Grandma Holder was in her 98th year. She had 8 brothers & sisters, 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call at Marlatt Funeral Home, 615 Main St. E. on Monday 2-4 & 6-8. Funeral Service for Eva will be held at The Salvation Army Mountain Citadel, 835 Stone Church Rd. E. on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens. (Hamilton Spectator Monday June 28, 2010)

Grandma, I Love You, and will miss you, but I know you are in a "Joyous" place.

The Haldimand Quilt Guild Show in Hagersville was a great success, with many wonderful quilts. Sue Patten was our featured guest, a very talented lady and a pleasure to have at our show.

I met Patrick, and I'm so excited to share him with you.

Each month we will introduce a new pattern from Patrick Lose. Known for his whimsical and fresh designs, both patterns and fabrics, Patrick's designs will be based on monthly-seasonal themes, released so that you can complete the project in time to be enjoyed for the appropriate month. And there is always a surprise or two with each design!

Imagine a Queen and Her Court translated into a beautiful, Heirloom Quilt.
The Court - 12 pieced blocks - surrounds the Queen - the center block - and in turn they are surrounded by stunning applique' blocks of vines and flowers. For 12 months you will receive fabric kits that use the beautiful fabrics from the Marie Antionette Group by Timeless Treasures to create the 12 pieced blocks and the applique' blocks and checkerboards, the center block, borders and bindings. Your quilt finishes to approximately

96 x 108 inches (queen size, of course!). Your pattern set includes the handy, commemorative Queen and Her Court tote bag, an 8½" x 11" color picture of the quilt, complete block patterns and directions and full size appliqué patterns. The 12" blocks use basic quilting techniques and tools and the appliqué blocks are completed individually in the single block format.

I'm a professional quilter, and own a longarm quilting machine, I teach quilting, smocking & sewing classes to adults and children, design custom heirloom & smocked childrens clothing and quilts, and I love to play the French Horn.
